In these troubled times of war and illness, it is vital to maintain one’s sense of wellness, in order to support and serve those caught in the crossfire of greed and narcissistic politics.
Growing up, I lived in several different countries. I was born in Singapore, then lived in Hongkong, Delhi, Hyderabad, Luxembourg, London, Gaborone, Harare, Brighton, Kuala Lumpur, and now St. Leonards on Sea. I quickly realised that my wellness is connected to the wellness of the planet. We are nourished by the earth’s bounty. And we nourish the earth with our care, love and gratitude.
I invite you to meditate on the thought, “I am as well as the planet I inhabit” and notice what arises.
The Elements and our Thoughts
Through the works of Japanese Scientist Masaru Emoto and others it has become increasingly clear that our thoughts impact the elements. When we are in a state of stress, the elements hold this state. When we express gratitude the elements respond and transform.
The inspiring work of Dr. Emoto is documented in the New York Times Bestseller, The Hidden Messages in Water. In his book, Dr. Emoto demonstrates how water exposed to loving, benevolent, and compassionate human intention results in harmonious physical molecular formations. While water exposed to fearful and discordant human intentions result in disharmonious physical molecular formations.
Among many things, his research also showed how polluted and toxic water when exposed to prayer is altered and restored to beautifully formed geometric crystals. The following photos are images of photographs of the water in the Fujiwara Dam before and after the Reverend Kato Hoki, chief priest of Jyuhouin Temple, offered an hour-long prayer over it.
“Words are the vibrations of nature
by Masaru Emoto
Therefore beautiful words create beautiful nature
Ugly words create ugly nature
This is the root of the universe.”
The bodies that we inhabit are woven with the five elements and imbued with life force. The planet, humanity, life, nature are woven together within the tapestry of Infinite Consciousness.

The Importance of Nourishing Wellness
Acknowledging this connection that we have with the elements and all sentient beings, is deeply nourishing. There are so many different ways of nourishing the body, mind and spirit.
For me, rest, yoga and fresh organic foods nourishes the body. Silence, meditation, song and creativity nourishes the mind. Service and Love nourishes relationship. Being out in nature listening to the hum in the ether, feeling the breeze, the warmth of the sun, the cool waters running through my hands, earth under my feet, fill me with gratitude and nourishes all of me.
What nourishes you? Perhaps you need to cleanse and reset before you KNOW what nourishes you. Cleanse your body and mind gently and lovingly and then reset your behaviour with compassionate understanding.
This brings me to our monthly LiberatingTouch Facilitator spotlight.
